Intro - EP

After a long search for new procrastination methods, I have decided to start a blog. This blog has no intention to ramble about my boring life of constant revision from 8am till 8pm, or tell meaningless, irrelevant stories about the blue piece of sweet corn I found in my 12 inch tuna sub. This blog is purely to entertain you on the subject of music, providing you a break from your equally mundane routines.

When it comes to music, everyone believes that they have the best taste. I am not about to gloat about my exceptional taste in music (my shower singing may cause my housemates to dispute this ), but rather share music that I think people will enjoy stumbling upon as they procrastinate on YouTube. The music will be a mixture of old, current and upcoming bands which you may or may not have heard of.

One thing for certain is that there will be no ‘Now 82’, ‘Top of the Pops’, or four-chord repetition bullshit that make up mainstream music today (preferred that sentence). I will follow a theme of acoustic sounds from talented musicians, and other artists who have neither sold their soul to mainstream nor become victims of auto-tune.

Today, while browsing YouTube out of sheer boredom, I ‘stumbled upon’ (I promise it’s the last time I will use the phrase) an old favourite of mine: ‘White Winter Hymnal’ by Fleet Foxes. To contrary belief, (which I was surprised to find out) the Fleet Foxes are not from Leicester. For those who have never heard of the Fleet Foxes, their music is very relaxed, with a chilled indie-folk feel to it, very similar to ‘Bon Iver’, ‘Grizzly Bear’ and ‘Iron and Wine’. Make sure you check out these artists.

My constant studying means that this blog will be regularly updated, so keep reading for new tracks. Sorry, I said I wasn’t going to mention revision. Enjoy
